A lovely island with intense Cycladic character, Sifnos is located on the western side of the Aegean Sea. This is an island perfect for all ages and preferences: families who want to relax or young people interested in nightlife. The sandy beaches, the picturesque villages, the fresh fish taverns by the sea, the small churches, the gorgeous view from various spots and the traditional ceramic workshops of Sifnos amaze visitors.
The capital is Apollonia, a beautiful village with small whitewashed houses and paved paths. A very picturesque village is also Kastro, with the characteristic small church of Seven Martyrs at the entrance of the village. Kamares is the main port of the island, which receives ferries from Piraeus (Athens) and other Cycladic islands. Wonderful beaches to swim are Platys Gialos, Faros, Chrissopigi and Vathy, on the southern side of the island.
